Origins A Perfect World White Tea Skin Guardian

Monday, May 12th, 2008 | Product Reviews | 4 Comments

Origins Perfect World White Tea Skin Guardian. Is your skin ready for dermatological heaven on earth?

Mine was, which is why I stopped by the Origins counter for a skin brightening and pampering solution! Origins A Perfect World White Tea Skin Guardianicon skin brightening and antioxidant serum has come to the rescue. It didn’t take much convincing on the part of Origins BA to get me to drop my dollar (actually, around $30 — inexpensive!) on this product. She pumped a couple squirts of this serum onto the back of my hand and I was immediately smitten. It glided on like silk! But the skin silkening emollients aren’t the best part…

Literally upon first use of this product, I was an enthusiast. Skin is immediately smoother, softer, and glowing after applying this serum to my face post-cleanse. After just a week my skin was significantly brighter and minor discolorations were lifted away.

White tea is a type of green tea that has knockout antioxidant powers and also more anti viral and anti bacterial properties than green tea. Whatever the benefits, my skin loves this serum! If you are on the market for a skin brightening product that truly delivers, this serum may be just for you!

Spring/Summer Style: Stacked Bangles

Saturday, May 10th, 2008 | Summer Style | 4 Comments

Stacked Bangles & Bracelets

A hot accessory trend during the summer season is stacking bright colored or earth toned bangles and bracelets. They add a colorful, fun look to any summer dress, mini skirt, shorts, or skinny jeans! Stacked bangles are best worn with halter tops, bikini tops, tube tops, tank tops, and summer dresses. If you are wearing a brightly colored or print top or dress, balance with earth toned bangles. If your summer dress or top is of a solid shade, pair with brightly colored bangles.

Spring/Summer Style: Tie Dye, Bold Colors, Prints

Monday, May 5th, 2008 | Summer Style | 10 Comments

The trends I am seeing around this season have me in awe. This year has got to be my favorite spring-summer season in fashion in the past couple years, at least! We’re seeing a wave of “hippie revival” with modern tie dye flowing tops and dresses, chic high-waist pants, and spring pastels. Notably next in line would be colorful animal print found on frocks and sandal soles. Gold is the hottest accessory, whether by handbag, gladiator heels and sandals, or hoop earrings (as reiterated in Hollow Star’s Kim Kardashian Fashion post last week - Kim loves the gold!)

To get the look, feel free to mix and match animal prints, tie dyes, and metallics such as gold and silver. Embellished sandals, gladiator heels, and metallic flip flops and accessories are a staple in your summer 2008 wardrobe.

Time To Clean Your Makeup Brushes!

Thursday, May 1st, 2008 | Beauty Tips | 5 Comments

How To Clean Your Makeup Brushes When is the last time you cleaned your makeup brushes? Not only your brushes, but also the sponge-tipped applicators that come with your eyeshadow compacts. Following are some tips on how to gently clean and preserve your brushes for sanitary use.

How To Clean Your Makeup Brushes

  • Wash your synthetic makeup brushes in lukewarm water with antibacterial handsoap. This is the mose affordable - and often most effective! - way of cleansing your synthetic makeup brushes.
  • If you are cleaning delicate, non-synthetic makeup brushes, invest in a high-end makeup remover such as Estee Lauder Take It Away multifunctional makeup remover for face and brushes (my personal favorite makeup remover).
  • To clean the sponge-tipped applicators from your eyeshadow compacts, saturate in very warm water then use antibacterial handsoap on these as well.

Optionally, fill a spray bottle with 50/50 water/hydrogen peroxide for a sanitizing spritz for your brushes.
