Boot Season Begins
It seems with fashion that we are having a bit of a retro revival and not least with the 60s.

The sixties trend, with designers like Bottega Veneta, Yves Saint Laurent, Prada, Burberry and John Paul Gautier all showing 60s style on their catwalks, is epitomised by shift dresses, graphic prints and pea coats. For this look think Jean Shrimpton, Twiggy and Mary Quant for perfect inspiration.
It is a perfect look to really experiment and have fun with, and with a few key pieces it is really easy to achieve the right look. A well cut shift dress in a heavy wool fabric that of course has to be a mini skirt, with a structured wool coat and knitted twin set, or a polo neck and mini skirt is a perfect look!
When it comes to accessories, little boxy handbags, knee-high boots, Mary-Janes and court shoes are all great ways of achieving the look.
However, for another take on the look and also for a little take of another key trend this season – androgyny – you could go for a pair of ankle boots. The look will be especially good with Chelsea boots. Chelsea boots were huge in the sixties and can look great with a mini-skirt and black tights: it will really channel the Mod look that was so huge in the 60s!
A pair of ankle boots also look really stylish with a pair of cigarette pants and a sleek roll-neck or fitted top – think Parisian 60s style and Left Bank chic. And of course when it comes to beauty it is all about the eyeliner and beehives for the perfect take on the 60s style.
