I’m really trying to get into wearing lipstick. It’s not that I want to abandon lip gloss, but that I’m challenging myself to experiment with the difference in texture. In efforts to make L’Oreal Colour Riche lipstick in Puckered Up Pink work more to my liking, I decided to mix it with a gloss: NARS Orgasm.
The combination produced a peachy pink, high-shine lip look and the thicker lipstick/gloss texture made it stay put for hours.
Even though I love coming up with custom shades, I don’t know if I always want to go this route. I just want to find a lipstick to love.
Is it not amazing when your scalp feels nice and clean? With all the product buildup I accumulate every few days (which is how often I wash my hair with shampoo), nothing feels better than when my scalp can breathe.
To get that tingly-clean feeling I love, I use Dr. Miracles 2-in-1 Shampoo & Conditioner. This stuff actually makes your scalp tingle, and I’ve always said that I love any feels-like-its-working product. I couldn’t wait to run in and shampoo my hair with this tonight after my jog.

Korres Silicone-Free Face Primer has been my go-to primer/moisturizer for the past couple months. I’ve been using it religiously since my Vegas vacation. What I love most about it is that it contains grapefruit oil and vitamin E — both are skin-savers that fight acne and hyperpigmentation — and that it indeed keeps makeup in tact all day. My attitude towards fragrance is very finicky. Case in point, once I “wear out” a fragrance for a season, I must switch it up and I never look back. I’m not one of those women that has a “signature” fragrance. You’ll smell something new on me every season. Plus, there are always so many great new fragrances that it would be a shame to not give a new one a whirl!
That being said, it’s interesting to me that I’m still loving the same fragrance I spritzed to the max last summer: Eau Flirt. It was featured on the Cosmo website last month and since then I’ve been obsessed all over again. There’s a gimmick behind the name: it’s a fragrance that’s said to “flirt for you.” I love marketing spins and this one is that one of the notes — pumpkin pie — makes guys go wild. My boyfriend loves it on me, that’s for sure. Most of all, I love the complexity of the fragrance. It has fruity top notes including plum, raspberry, and apple that settle into hints of jasmine and cinnamon. The drydown is a soft musk. I can’t stop smelling myself when I wear it.

This post, aptly titled, is about probably the biggest beauty dilemma I’ve faced during my vacation: bloating! It’s been awful. Foods that I could normally get away with — including anything dairy or higher in sodium — now cause me to bloat something terrible for the entire day. I think it has something to do with the lack of humidity out here, and my body feeling the lack of moisture. So what does it do? Retain water (pretty much clinging to it for dear life).
Fortunately I’ve found some ways to counteract bloating, and I wanted to share them with you.
I know I’m late but here I am, reporting from sunny & warm Las Vegas, Nevada! Although I misplaced one bag of luggage with clothes, shoes, and makeup brushes that took me two days to recover, the plus side to that is that it’s taught me to be more resourceful with what I have. Namely, my hands, which I had been using to apply all of my makeup.
Going from “Lake Humid” weather in Ohio to dry Vegas air would make one think that oily skin like mine would benefit from the transition. However after air travel, the first two days of my trip I’d broken out a bit, my complexion was uneven and more oily than usual, yet the skin on my body was dryer than ever.
