NARS 15th Anniversary Wild At Heart Palette

February 2nd, 2010 // Eyeshadow, Makeup Looks

I can’t get over how perfect the shades are in the 15th Anniversary NARS Wild At Heart Palette. This palette is all about dramatic LIPS but contains a perfect matte black to smoke up a neutral eye. Lip shades included are Baby Doll Lip Lacquer (what I’m wearing in the photo below), Red Lezard lipstick, Manhunt lipstick, and Fire Down Below lipstick. Shadows include Abyssinia, Alhambra, Ashes to Ashes, and Pandora.

FOTD: Lumiere Cosmetics Eye Pigments, Korres Lip Butter

August 24th, 2009 // Eyeshadow, Lip Balm, Makeup Looks, Primer

I conjured up what is, for me, a great daytime autumn-esque eye using shades of Lumiere Cosmetics eye pigments (check out Lumiere Skin & Beauty Bar if you’ve never heard of them). As a base pigment on the lid I used Helitrope. In the crease I used Espresso Shimmer. To highlight beneath my brows I used Cappuccino. For the coppery peach pop of color I used Dulce de Leche. To line I used Wet ‘n Wild MegaLiner in black on top and Stila 24t Smudge Pot in Golden Noir on my bottom lash line.

On my cheeks I used Stila Lip & Cheek Stain in Mango Crush.

Since receiving my Korres shipment the other day which I was too excited about, I’ve introduced two Korres products into my routine and in this FOTD. First is their Silicone Free Face Primer which seems to keep my oil at bay all day. Loving it. I’m also solely wearing Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine on my lips. It has a bit of glossiness to it, which I love. What I love most about Korres is that their products are all-natural, so you’re doing something good for your skin.

By the way, if you’ll be purchasing any Korres products from KorresUSA.com before Sept. 15, you can use this Frappelattes coupon code at checkout to receive 30% off your entire order. If you’re new to the line and have a Sephora nearby you can experience it there before you buy.

What do you think of this makeup look? Too much? Just enough?

Summer Eyeshadow Palette: CARGO Color Palette in Tahiti

June 23rd, 2009 // Beauty Reviews, Eyeshadow

I’ve become a bigger fan of CARGO cosmetics in general as of late, and I pay some homage to Kia over at Yummy411 beauty blog for initially getting me hooked!

CARGO Color Palette in Tahiti ($28)icon is a luxe, high-pigment palette with a sea green, a seafoam green, an electric blue, and a pastel yellow pan. Mix and match the shades or wear alone for a totally tropical eye look. Have a look at how pigmented the shades look against my NW45 skintone:

Drugstore Drama: CoverGirl Eye Enhancers 4-Kit Shadow

November 17th, 2008 // Drugstore Makeup, Eyeshadow, Makeup Looks

CoverGirl Berries & Cream

You know, they say purple eyeshadow enhances hazel and brown eyes. This is one of my new favorite looks! The other day I was “doing drugstore” and picked up CoverGirl Eye Enhancers 4-Kit Eyeshadow in Berries & Cream as well as Ardell Fashion Lashes in 101 Demi cut. Who says one can’t make drugstore look good? I admit, I kicked up the color payoff of the CG shadows with a dab of Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, but the look was fab nonetheless.

What are your current drugstore obsessions? (more…)

In My Bag: Chanel Ombre D’Eau Iridescent Fluid Eyeshadow

February 24th, 2008 // Beauty Reviews, Eyeshadow

I’m having one makeup phase in particular; I’ve gone bananas over all things Chanel in my arsenal lately. The following product I have had in my beauty bag for months, but I wasn’t too crazy for it in the beginning. It was an impulse buy when I was really looking for a gloss but a gorgeous Chanel BA coerced me into buying this pinky-gold shade of liquid eyeshadow: Chanel Ombre D’Eau Iridescent Fluid Eyeshadow in Coast. I was trying to find that shade for you all, but alas it was limited edition. First MAC’s Lipglass in Nymphette, and now this? *pouts* This and the former were both pinky-gold shades, which I’m now convinced were specially formulated for my skintone.

For purposes of this review, Bay would be a perfect alterna-shade, although I would like to experiment with some of the other pretty colors from the line aswell such as Fountain and Ocean.

I rediscovered this product when I randomly pulled it out and starting dabbing the fluid here, there, and there on my face with the sponge-tipped applicator, then quickly blended it to see the effect. It was quite lovely! Not only do I use it on my browbone and lid, but also right under my eyes above the apples of my cheeks for an iridescent glow. I also dabbed it on my lips before applying lip gloss to provide a light golden base. Who says there’s only one way to use a beauty product?
