Korres Lip Butter Indulgence (Plus 30% Off Online Purchases)

November 25th, 2009 // Lip Balm, Promos

korres-jasmine-lip-butter I have a love/love relationship with Korres Lip Butter ($9) and here’s why: it looks great alone or layered under any other lip product, it doubles as a cheek tint, and it thoroughly moisturizes and babies lips.

Korres Lip Butter / Lip & Cheek Tint

Ultimate lip treatment with intensely hydrating formulas, packed with a juicy pop of color. A buttery lip balm that melts on the lips and offers a shiny, tinted finish. The combination of shea butter and rice wax offers deep hydration and softness. Ideal for chapped lips.

My favorite shades are Jasmine and Guava and both look great worn as “highlighters” on the tops of your cheekbones for a sheer glow. Also available are Pomegranate, Quince, Plum, Wild Rose, and Mango.

I’m addicted to these little pots and they last forever, so $9 is hardly a splurge for such a treat.

Lucky for us, Korres is offering readers of my beauty blog a 30% discount on web purchases for the holiday season! So, stock up on Lip Butter, gift sets, or whatever else you or another beauty junkie in your life needs with this 30% off coupon code at checkout: FRAPPELATTES

Love. Shop the website @ KorresUSA.com.

In My Bag: True Shimmer ChapStick & Fresh Effects ChapStick

November 3rd, 2009 // Lip Balm

I blogged back in July about how much I loved True Shimmer ChapStick in Peppermint Rush. I still do, but now, alongside Peppermint Rush I always tote a tube of Fresh Effects ChapStick in Refreshing Mandarin.

Refreshing Mandarin Fresh Effects ChapStick leaves a tingling, cooling sensation and smells great. I love that tingly feeling, which is also the reason I chose Peppermint Rush from the True Shimmer line – it’s the only True Shimmer that tingles. But both Fresh Effects flavors (Refreshing Mandarin and Invigorating Green Tea Mint) tingle, and all newer ChapStick formulations are creamy and leave your lips so smooth. True Shimmers also look great alone or layered until a gloss for added shimmer.

Either of these ChapStick options are perfect little indisposables for your clutch or wristlet and retail for only $2.99 at mass market retailers, making them cheap thrills in my book! I reapply these constantly when I’m not wearing lip color because I like the way they feel on my lips.

Dry Winds Call for Erno Laszlo pHormula 3-9 Moisture Repair Lip Balm

October 1st, 2009 // Lip Balm

It’s officially Fall. I feel it as soon as I step outside when wind and chill hit my skin instantaneously. It made me sad to trade up my summer dress and Havaianas for boots and a motorcycle jacket, but… Alas. As our bodies need increased protection against the elements, so do our lips.

erno-laszlo-phormula-3-9-balm

Erno Laszlo Moisture Repair Lip Balm coats lips with essential fatty acids, shea butter, and SPF15 to prevent dry, chapped lips. Another reason I love this balm is that the formula is not at all sticky or greasy… Actually, it leaves a relatively thin (yet moisturizing) layer of product on your lips, creating a perfect canvas for lip stick or gloss.

My favorite gloss to smear on top of this Laszlo balm? A thick, pigmented formula such as NARS. Perfect combo.

FOTD: Lumiere Cosmetics Eye Pigments, Korres Lip Butter

August 24th, 2009 // Eyeshadow, Lip Balm, Makeup Looks, Primer

I conjured up what is, for me, a great daytime autumn-esque eye using shades of Lumiere Cosmetics eye pigments (check out Lumiere Skin & Beauty Bar if you’ve never heard of them). As a base pigment on the lid I used Helitrope. In the crease I used Espresso Shimmer. To highlight beneath my brows I used Cappuccino. For the coppery peach pop of color I used Dulce de Leche. To line I used Wet ‘n Wild MegaLiner in black on top and Stila 24t Smudge Pot in Golden Noir on my bottom lash line.

On my cheeks I used Stila Lip & Cheek Stain in Mango Crush.

Since receiving my Korres shipment the other day which I was too excited about, I’ve introduced two Korres products into my routine and in this FOTD. First is their Silicone Free Face Primer which seems to keep my oil at bay all day. Loving it. I’m also solely wearing Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine on my lips. It has a bit of glossiness to it, which I love. What I love most about Korres is that their products are all-natural, so you’re doing something good for your skin.

By the way, if you’ll be purchasing any Korres products from KorresUSA.com before Sept. 15, you can use this Frappelattes coupon code at checkout to receive 30% off your entire order. If you’re new to the line and have a Sephora nearby you can experience it there before you buy.

What do you think of this makeup look? Too much? Just enough?

ChapStick True Shimmer – Never Leave the House Without One!

July 31st, 2009 // Lip Balm

chapstick-true-shimmer-tropical ChapStick has never really been a cosmetic item used to add an element of glamour to the face, but rather to moisturize and comfort your lips. But, the new ChapStick True Shimmer ($2.29) line changes this. In addition to soothing dry, flaky lips, True Shimmer ChapStick leaves lips shimmery and with a hint of tint to the lips.

I own three flavors of True Shimmer ChapStick – Peppermint Rush (hits stores in August), Botanical Berry, and Tropical – and they smell just as the names suggest. Usually I wear them under my lip gloss as a moisture and shimmer base but I also find myself wearing them alone often because they make my lips look so soft and lustrous.

My personal favorite is Peppermint Rush, as it not only smells and looks great on but it also makes lips tingle. Just what I love in a lip balm! Look out for this version in stores next month.

Korres Pomegranate Lip Butter is a Natural Delight

July 28th, 2009 // Beauty Reviews, Lip Balm

korres-pomegranate-lip-butterNatural beauty products? I’m a fan! That’s why Korres is fast becoming one of my personal beauty brand indulgences. Korres Lip Butter ($9)icon is a current addiction of mine. My favorite shade is Pomegranate, which I will wear into the indian summer season. The shea butter and rice wax formula goes on creamy and smooth and leaves lips with a nice, tinted shine. Fragrance-free, Korres Lip Butter also contains no mineral oil, silicone, propylene glycol, nor ethanolamine. Once applied, chapped lips turn into smooth “pillows”. Much more kissable!
