They are cleverly named after “beautiful” US cities, including Miami, Las Vegas, Nashville, and Hollywood (my personal favorite lash strips were Nashville – plush yet natural-looking). They are a perfect accessory to any makeup look and give license to skip mascara – this I love! My natural lashes can take a break from wear and tear but I can still bat “my lashes” glamourously on a night out. The lash strips are thin, so they rest upon your own lashes looking quite natural. Keep in mind that you would still need to purchase your own lash glue (I use Lash Grip by Ardell, found at drugstores and beauty supply shops). ko Denmark Jasmine Neroli Body Products

The best thing about starting my day lately, next to my morning cup of coffee, is ko denmark Organic Jasmine Neroli Body Wash and Body Lotion. Did you know that jasmine, aromatherapeutically, is said to “wake up” the brain upon inhalation? The body wash and body lotion I received, for me, seems to do just that. Red Mango Frozen Yogurt

You should definitely check out Red Mango if you have one in your area. I was looking for a local frozen yogurt joint and this one is located just down the street from where I live. Their newest flavor, Madagascar Vanilla, is 100 calories (for the small), probiotic, and all-natural (no artificial ingredients). I’m in love! It has that perfect tartness that keeps me coming back for more. Beware, because it can become a total addiction. (redmangousa.com)

Vertical Cologne for Men

Lastly, I’ve had quite a fetish lately with wearing men’s fragrance. This bottle is my boyfriend’s Vertical Cologne by Victoria’s Secret, which contains notes of lavender and amber with more manly notes of suede and bergamot. Some seasons I’m repulsed by too-sweet fragrances and need something deeper (but with “girly” notes to balance it out). I love that modern men’s fragrances have become softer and crisper than of the past, and coincidentally work on my own skin. Try a man’s fragrance on yourself sometime and you may just fall in love. Korres Face Primer – This primer does an awesome job of filling in my pores and leaving my skin smooth for foundation application. The formula is 99% natural and contains no silicone, plus is suitable for all skin types. This primer also never clogs my pores nor makes me break out. It’s great for basic, everyday use for errands, school, or the office.

Chanel Base Lumiere Illuminating Makeup Base – If I weren’t so concerned about using up this primer (due how pricey it is) I’d be using it like everyday! Chanel Illuminating Makeup Base primer makes skin look totally flawless worn under foundation. Pores seem to disappear, skin glows, and I don’t have a problem with oil control all day. It’s amazing.

Best Makeup Primer for Combination/Oily Skin

Illamasqua Matt Primer SPF20 – To keep mild-moderate oily skin under control, Illamasqua’s Matt Primer will do the trick. If you have moderate to very oily skin I would suggest using a mattifying moisturizer underneath to extend the oil-control benefits to last the day.

My once forgotten bottle of Chanel Base Lumiere Illuminating Makeup Base now has a special place in my makeup bag. I dispense a dime-sized amount onto my fingers, mix with a little of my favorite serum or moisturizer, and massage it onto my entire face. I now have a nice glow going on, but it gets better. I am absolutely in love with fall/winter styles this season. They’re amazing.
