Social Media Makes the World a Better Place
Nowadays, the world is so much easier due to technology. If we weren’t as up to date as we are today, cell phones wouldn’t exist. Google wouldn’t exist. Blogs wouldn’t exist. Frappelattes wouldn’t exist! Now thanks to Benjamin Franklin, Sir Timothy Berners-Lee, Martin Cooper, and of course Mark Zuckerberg, our lives are completely wired and accessible to people across the globe in a matter of milliseconds!

Without all the above mentioned conveniences (Or shall I say necessities?), social networking would not be as important as is today! Businesses literally thrive on social networking. There’s even a movie/documentary about it, which I’m sure everybody’s heard of. Take one of my favorite online shopping sites, ShopNBC, for example. It’s literally a whole department store on a desk. In my living room. I can literally shop in my snuggie. The awesome thing about ShopNBC and most other retailers like them is that they like to connect themselves with us shoppers via Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. If I subscribe to the ShopNBC Twitter page, I can get daily deals and ‘best-sellers’ the second they come out. I don’t have to spend hours at a shopping mall searching through hundreds of racks at twenty different stores. If I go to the ShopNBC Facebook page, I can enter a bunch of promotions or giveaways. Free stuff? Who wouldn’t like that??? If I get a little iffy about a new designer or don’t know how to wear a certain something, I can go watch ShopNBC on YouTube and find out within a few minutes!
Seriously, thank the heavens that we are so blessed. I can shop online, text a friend across the country, email a blogger in Australia, Tweet what I’m eating, etc. I look forward to seeing what other new technological inventions we’ll be experiencing next!
