My beauty bag staple, must-have, whathaveyou is definitely black eyeliner. I feel so naked without it! It truly picks up my face and completes all of my makeup looks. I’m often told that I look “tired” without it. Today would be one of those naked days since I’ve used up my new drugstore fave eyeliner Jane One Liners Self-Sharpening Eyeliner. I used Jane One Liners in Blackline in this video. My favorite thing about this liner is that, not only is it only $4 (drugstore steep, maybe, but cheap compared to my usual high-end makeup buys), but the twist-up “self-sharpening” kohl is perfect for quick and easy application. You never have to sharpen this baby! The only con is that if you use eyeliner as much as I do, Jane One Liners will only last for about a month.
All in all, I give Jane One Liners a thumbs up and will purchase again!

2008 has so far been a year of newness for me. While there are things in my life that aren’t really ‘new,’ but renewed and refined (my spirituality, my current relationships, etc.), I decided that this would be a year that I really see through to accomplishments in my life, try some different things, and meet some new people.
So Far This Year…
I’ve lost 10lbs and going
Love and peace have become main themes of my spirituality, and I try to keep to these everyday
I chopped up my hair and added a funky color to it
I’ve made lots of new friends to share life stories with
And, what do you know? Frappelattes has a new layout.
Faithful readers keep this site alive, so feel free to suggest content and features to fill up the sidebars and add to the site.
Hope you are all having a blessed, successful year so far!

Lately (for the past few weeks) between work, school, and web development I’ve been re-evaluating myself as a person. I’m sure we all do this every now and again, to access whether or not we’re satisfied with our lives, our careers, our relationships, etc. Though I’m happy, I haven’t felt very satisfied. I’ve felt the need to interact more with friends (and strangers), to really reach out and embrace people. To be a kinder person. I want to get the most out of my life and though I’ve started on a great path, I want to know that my future is fruitful and secure.
Well, to get to the bottom of these thoughts I’ve been praying a lot lately to be able see myself from the outside (to better myself) and to see opportunities that I wouldn’t have known existed otherwise (pertaining to my career). Because this is primarily a beauty and fitness blog – these are my hobbies – I don’t really talk much about my stance on life. Many of you know that I am a Christian. So when I say that I’ve been ‘praying,’ I’m praying to God…not to ‘mother earth’…nor my bottle of Chanel perfume. Beyond material things, having a loving base and belief system that actually improves your quality of life and enables you to grow as a person and love others, I’ve found, is crucial to joy and success in any endeavor.
Anyway, as a result of my introspection and consultation with God, I’ve been much more productive lately. I’m getting my life organized (Google Calendar is great!), making time for my friends and family, and I’m exploring new career options and meeting new people.
Just last night my favorite beauty blogger, Precious from Precious & Makeup, and I finally met for a face-to-face! Precious is very inspiring; at just 21 she owns her own enterprise and specializes in beauty and makeup artistry. She is also extremely humble and sweet (and her in-person makeup skills are fantastic), and it was a great pleasure to discuss career opportunities with her. I’m also looking to collaborate with her on future projects.
One thing that my faith has shown me is that to be truly successful (as a person and in life and career), we need to help others before we help ourselves. Love others as we love ourselves. In essence, do what you can to positively influence people, and you will prosper because of it. My blogs, for example, are a great outlet for me to so, and I hope that I have inspired you to do the same in your personal life in various ways.
I have been busy lately, but in order to deliver on some of those reader requests, look out for these topics in the next week!
- I’ll share some of my favorite health food buys (plus my favorite snacks)
- Get organized by setting priorities and toting this season’s essential shoulder bag
- Black makeup and hair care tips!
- Get going with more blog marketing techniques
Stay tuned!

New layout! What do you think?
It’s been a pretty chill weekend for me. I’ve been trying to eat right and exercise here and there (weekends are always lazier for me). Yesterday I had sushi with a friend for…lunch? It was around 4pm. Afterward I stopped by the grocery store to replenish my fish oil pills.
Otherwise I’ve been relaxing with my boyfriend, which is typical on the weekends. I may bake some Vitalicious muffins later today if we get bored/hungry.
Let’s enjoy the rest of our weekend!

I felt so…Mary-Kate today in my super-long black kimono dress and sky high patent black pumps. Though Mary Kate & I are polar opposites when it comes to height and everything, wearing a drape-y dress with heels so tall/big that my feet didn’t quite fill them made me feel akin to the petite, oversized-clothes-wearing vixen. I haven’t quite broken those heels in yet either, so they were quite a challenge to hobble manuever around in to the office printer & back. Minus one.
My quarterly Victoria’s Secret catalog came in the mail yesterday. I should have known better than to open it due to the fact that my Angel card has seen its days already, and as of late I have been doing way too much shopping. Unfortunately, temptation reared its ugly head and I had a peek. And let me tell you, I’m kind of regretting it. This season’s VS clothes are amazing! Overpriced, yes, but amazing nonetheless.

I couldn’t find all the ones that I adored on the website, so those are a couple of my favorite tops. Especially the drape top, except in a grey color.
Oh! The dress. My perfect autumn dress:

Gdsgsdhgahh! Absolutely loves it. It’s leggy, off-the-shoulder, unconventional, and adorable. That’s my coffee date dress, right there. *drooling*

Hi! A second personal digest in a row? Oh my. No, I haven’t run out of resources (one look in my vanity chest would confirm that)…just trying to change it up a little. I’m still chuckling at my oh-so-serious expression. Nope, it’s really not that serious. I’m just gonna chat about my holiday weekend (emphasis on weekend, the break was lovely).
There’s this shindig that goes down in the Short North in my city - the area around High Street spanning between downtown and the Ohio State University campus, to be brief - called Gallery Hop. Gallery Hop occurs the first Saturday of every month, and it basically gives people an excuse to…gallery hop (and shop)…without pressure to buy or be too serious. The business potential is great for galleries and boutiques in the area. It is also an excuse to get wasted, as there are ‘adult beverage’ offerings galore and for free (or 25 cents per shot as my post-drunken friend informed me). I did not drink at Gallery Hop; it was simply another opportunity for me and my best friend James to get done up and parade the city. Nothing too serious: I donned an updo with a Lux tunic dress, cute flip flops, and a random beaded necklace I found in my closet that I’d never worn. James wore an Abercrombie sweater with light wash Abercrombie jeans. It was a dress up/down affair.
All in all, it was a decent time. We took oodles of pictures, but I’ll spare the masses of the majority.

Other than that? I’ll leave you with the
Diet Tip of the Day (unofficial, of course):
“Throw out the chips, lose those hips; Say no to fries, bye bye thighs”
Sadly, I did make that one up. However, the point is:
Cut way back on carbs (if even for a week) and watch what happens with your body. That means hold out on the junk food, fast food, pizzas, pastas, and white bread. When your body burns up those stored carbs, water weight will fall away with it. You’ll also have tons more energy and clearer, glowing skin. Bye bye hips, thighs, and cellulite…try it!
P.S. I’d like to blow a kiss to Decadent Luxe and her fabulous vanity chest.
P.S.S. I switched site hosts this weekend, and it was a very bumpy transition! If any links are not working, don’t hesitate to comment and let me know. :*
