Though some have deemed makeup primers as non-essential, I’ve found that my makeup just does not last without one. My favorite primer is Korres Silicone-Free Makeup Primer with Vitamin E.

Korres Silicone-Free Primer is 99% natural and is supposed to perfect pores, fill in lines and wrinkles, and soothe the skin in general.

Las Vegas Beauty Update

I know I’m late but here I am, reporting from sunny & warm Las Vegas, Nevada! Although I misplaced one bag of luggage with clothes, shoes, and makeup brushes that took me two days to recover, the plus side to that is that it’s taught me to be more resourceful with what I have. Namely, my hands, which I had been using to apply all of my makeup.

Going from “Lake Humid” weather in Ohio to dry Vegas air would make one think that oily skin like mine would benefit from the transition. However after air travel, the first two days of my trip I’d broken out a bit, my complexion was uneven and more oily than usual, yet the skin on my body was dryer than ever. To think I’d finally perfected my skin back at home by using coconut oil religiously…

My Pore Dilemma Solved by Adding Steam to a White Clay Mask Facial

Two things changed my life tonight (or, at least, the state of my pores)… Using steam to open my pores, then using a white clay mask to finally make them “disappear”.

A little background:

My skin is decidedly “combo/oily”. After washing with a quality cleanser, it looks and feels dry and tight, but after applying moisturizer and makeup, my skin becomes significantly oily just hours later. I also have monthly breakouts. Well, I have been more happy with my skin for the past few weeks since incorporating some fabulous products into my routine (the white clay mask included; more reviews in the works). My breakouts have diminished as a result of this new routine. But, one skin issue I’ve always had remained: the pores on my face — especially around my nose — seemed so large. Who else hates the apparent size of their pores? For me, they became more apparent with age.

I’d been alternating between using scrubs and using masks quite religiously, but nothing seemed to shrink the appearance of my pores.

Tonight, though, my issue has been solved!
