Best “Blushing Blush” For Dark Skin

July 28th, 2008 // Beauty Reviews, Blush

The title of this post is not only how I feel about my current favorite blush but also is a play on words because my current favorite blush is of Clinique’s Blushing Blush line.

It seems that no matter which blush shades I choose, the color ends up looking chalky on me in bright light or too flashy in person. That, or they don’t show up at all. Darker plums are pretty but are only suitable during the cold weather season.

Clinique Blushing Blush Precious PosyThis is no such case when I am wearing Clinique Blushing Blush in Precious Posyicon. This blush looks deceiving in the pan. It looks like a bright pastel orange. But, on the skin it looks very sheer with a golden shimmer. I think it is a perfect blush for dark skin because it leaves a touch of peachy gold color that is natural rather than bright or chalky. The subtle golden shimmer adds a healthy glow to the skin, making it look as if our dark skin really is “blushing.”

Tip: Contour your cheeks with a dark bronzer and apply Precious Posy to the apples, sweeping back a bit.

Hmm, would that look good on medium brown skin too? It looks really pretty in the container.

I’ll have to try this. I think we’re about the same color. I also Dark 3 Cocoa for the Dream Matte Mousse. I usually just use a bronzer as my “blush”

I know that it looks super scary in the pan, but NARS blush shade Taj Mahal is wonderful on our darker tone. It’s a fave of mine. Just be sure to use a light hand b/c nars blushes are highly pigmented.

I don’t have a dark skin though, just an asian color like light brown but I am checking it out now.

Thanks!
