This tutorial is for gals that are new to blush application. Applying blush can seem like a daunting task, but I promise it’s not difficult. Once you master swiping on the perfect shade of blush to your face, it may become as indispensible to you as your favorite lipstick or lip gloss!
Choose blush shades that will compliment your skin tone. Typically, blush should be used to replicate our natural flush-faced color, but in a more uniform, deliberate way. To figure this out, if you have pale to olive skin that visibly flushes, give your cheeks a quick pinch with your fingers. The shade that emerges should be a perfect blush shade to start out with. Try to match that shade when you go shopping around for blushers. You could also hunt for a blush that matches the shade of your lips, which works as well. If you have dark skin that does not visibly flush, you cannot go wrong with a deep plum, coral, or rosy shade. I love all three. Play around with swatches at your favorite makeup counter to see which shades look great on you.
First, apply your foundation/concealer as normal. To apply blush powder, use a soft makeup brush designed for your cheeks. Swirl your brush around in the product and then tap the handle on your wrist to shake off excess powder. The trick is to start out with only a bit of color and then add more to your liking. Now, smile! And begin to sweep the blush on the apples of your cheeks, moving out and up toward your ears. To blend the color seamlessly into your skin, use a large, clean makeup brush on your cheeks in circular motions to lightly blend away any harsh lines.

My favorite shade of blush right know is any thing orange. NARS Taj Mahal gives me a nice glow. Loves it!
