In My Bag: Chanel Brilliance Pur Sheer Brilliance

Sunday, February 17th, 2008 | Beauty Tips, Product Reviews

Okay, so I’m a sucker for anything that shimmers, and anything Chanel. Can you blame me? Both are a girl’s best friend, especially when used to their full potential. I introduce to you this wonder product: Chanel Brilliance Pur Sheer Brilliance. What exactly is Chanel Sheer Brilliance? It is a foundation, a bronzer, and a shimmer highlighter all in one. Now I hear some beauty mavens freaking out right now about using shimmer as a foundation. But we’re talking about Chanel, here, and they do it well! The shimmer isn’t in your face glimmer; the micro prisms give a subtle yet glamorous glow to your face that catches light and distracts away from any imperfections. The coverage is very sheer as a foundation but somehow disguises those little blemishes on your face that no one should see. You can also mix it with your current foundation for a translucent effect. As a bronzer, it is full-on-femme phenomenal: just ask a best friend of mine who absolutely adores using it everytime we go out. “OMG, I have cheekbones! It’s preeetty…” As a highlighter, I use it on the tops of my cheekbones and other high points on my face, and also on the balls of my shoulders and my decollate when I want to feel ultra-glam.

Multi-functional products woo me everytime!

I’m a hippie in lots of ways so I’m about the hippie chic thing. You should do a post about it to give me some ideas.

I can’t wear foundation without feeling overly done up and like I’m a mess. I’m most comfortable with done up eyes and a bit of bronzer. I would use something like this on my cheekbones if I could afford Chanel lol.

I would like to try it, but I think it would look goofy on me because I’m so pale.

Btw…you look gorgeous in the photo!

That stuff sounds amazing! I love that you blogged about a topic that isn’t really trendy right now and is just something you love and use.

I love this photo of you! I take a liking to any makeup that doesn’t clog pores and can multi-task. Multi-task and shimmering is the main reason I love MAC pigments, so I may very well check this out.

Great picture of you, but like Crystal said. I could never wear something like that because I’m too pale …

Hey Girlie♥ Thanks for the compliment. I love your site. :D Now, I know where to go to get beauty tips. I’m still trying to find the right shades and colours for my face but I love the natural look.

Ooh, pretty pretty :) That’s so cool that it can be used as three different things. I’ve never really experimented with bronzer (I kind of like my pale-ness, and I don’t want it to look too noticeable, you know?) and as for highlighter, well…I’m not really sure how to use it. I’m mostly just an eyeshadow/mascara/lip gloss girl. :)
