Jurlique Silk Finishing Powder Review (by Maria)

I’ve always wanted to try a finishing powder, but I was never quite sure which brand to use or why it was even necessary. I figured with my beauty routine (tinted moisturizer, powder foundation, blush), how would another product enhance my skin even more? So when I got the opportunity to try out Jurlique Silk Finishing Powder, I was thrilled.

The first thing you will notice when using this product is its amazing smell. I used Rose for my balanced skin, but you can also get Lavender for dry skin and Citrus for oily skin. It smells natural and fresh all day, unlike some products that after a few hours begin to mix with your sweat and produce an unpleasant aroma.

Secondly, it provides a nice, matte texture to my skin throughout the day. This is where using a finishing powder has its benefits. If you noticed, a lot of times you have to reapply powdered foundation in order to keep unwanted shine away. With this powder, it’s light and translucent and kept my oil at bay the entire day. I was shocked! In fact, if your skin complexion is fairly even, you can use this in replacement of your foundation.

Finally, what sets Jurlique apart is their all natural ingredients. Daisy, Arnica, Rosemary, and Witch Hazel are just a few parts of this quality blend that soothe, smooth, and hydrate your skin. No more nasty chemicals for our skin ladies (and gentlemen)!

I would say my only complaint about this product is its packaging. It comes with a puff applicator (which I hate due to hygiene reasons), so if you use a brush like me it has a tendency of getting everywhere. Otherwise I highly recommend this product! At $36 for a large .35 oz container, it’s well worth it.
