L’Oreal Telescopic Explosion Mascara Wasn’t Love At First Swipe
At first, I hated L’Oreal Telescopic Explosion Mascara – to put it lightly. I almost threw it out. Now, I choose it everyday over every other mascara I own.
My first mistake was attempting to use this mascara like I’d use any others I’d ever used. But after taking one look at the small, spiked wand, you realize that a different approach is needed.
To love Telescopic Explosion, you must learn how to work it, brush included. Even the thick, potentially clumpy formula I’ve learned to work to my advantage.
The formula, along with manipulation of the brush, gives me the most volume and lash separation I’ve ever experienced from a mascara. If you have naturally long or thick lashes, L’Oreal Telescopic Explosion Mascara could easily give you a serious false-lash look.
Really, the only con to this mascara from my perspective at this point is that to get it right, you’ll need to, at least, double the time it takes to apply mascara. This is no swipe-a-few-times-and-go mascara. You have to put in a bit more effort to see it work its magic on your lashes.
What I do first is curl my lashes, then apply a thin coat of Telescopic Explosion from root to tip to avoid initial clumpiness. Then, I use the base of the wand – where more product accumulates – to “clump” product onto sections my lashes. Then, I carefully work the product through from root to tip, working in all directions to separate, build volume, and add length before I move to the next section. That’s how I build volume and length, and working the brush through my lashes a few times prevents clumping.
The formula is thick but doesn’t dry too fast, allowing you to carefully build volume and length without it drying too quickly into clumps. The brush is superb at separating lashes. There is no flaking, so this mascara stays put all day.
I received this mascara for free for review, and even though I’ve got mascara stockpiled (unopened tubes and all – smh), I’m rushing out to buy a replacement of L’Oreal Telescopic Explosion as soon as it runs out.
If you pick up this mascara on my word, know that the reviews for this one are dramatic – ladies either REALLY hate it, or really LOVE it. I ended up switching teams.
