Metallic Eyeliner Fun
Thursday, June 5th, 2008 | Product Reviews
Sorry about the lapse in updating. I’ve been working on tons of projects lately including a new layout! Stay tuned for that.
Lately I’m all about frugality and only paying top dollar for those high-end products I can’t live without. Last weekend I found myself perusing the drugstore makeup aisles looking for deals on quality, affordable makeup. My quest was to find a new favorite lip gloss (not like I need one more! But you know how that goes) and some sort of fun eye makeup to sport this season.
Revlon Shiny Sheers lip color caught my eye first. To me they’re “lip stick glosses” because of the tubes they come in, but when the color graces your lips it’s not at all cakey or opaque like lipstick. The texture is smooth, sheer, and very comfortable as if you’re wearing lip balm! I picked up Shiny Sheers in Sheer Honey Drizzle which is a sheer honey with a hint of sparkle. This shade would be flattering on nearly all skin tones but looks especially delicious against darker skin.
The eyes were next and I decided instaneously when I saw Revlon High Dimension eyeliners that metallics are the way to go. They’re hot right now! Sparkle*Shelf features an article this week written by yours truly about metallic glitter eyeliners and how to wear them. My new favorite metallic drugstore eyeliner is Revlon High Dimension eye liner in Gold Flash. It happens to go quite well with my honey Shiny Sheers; I line my bottom lid in metallic gold liner then finish with a honey/nude lip look. This seems to be a Kim Kardashian makeup trend as well.

What are your favorite metallics right now?

I used to have a metallic gold eyeliner, i loved it and worked well with my skin tone. My favorite lip gloss has to be C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip shine, http://www.bathandbodyworks.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3052828&cp=2484525.2079003&parentPage=category
It not only gives a shine and moister but it also helps freshen your breath. It also tastes yummy too, def kissably soft.
hey marsadie! milani brilliance liners.. every time i wear the aqua shade someone asks me about it… i wore some in my inner corner and i forgot it was there.. again someone approached me! def a winner! ![]()
A lot of the drugstore brands have some really cool stuff. I like that look on you! I only have one metallic eyeliner in green and I don’t wear it much.
I’m too much of a baby to try metallics, although my MAC lipglasses have some metallic shine to them, which I usually pair with browns on my eyes. I love how that lip color goes with your skin tone. You look great.
Also, thanks for the sweet and uplifting comment on my weight gain blog. <3 It meant a lot! =]
