Steep vs. Cheap: High Shine Lip Gloss

September 28th, 2007 // Beauty Reviews, Drugstore Makeup, Lip Gloss

Lip gloss – a girl can never have too much. I’ve counted, and I own over 50. It’s a sad story!

It becomes necessary to question which ones earn the top spot in our cosmetics stash.

My two favorite brands of lip gloss by far are Lancome Juicy Tubes and MAC Lipglass. They’re both high-shine and perfectly sticky making them stay put longer than most. But, not everyone wants to spend $15-20 on a tube of lip shine.

How can we get a high shine lip look without paying a high end price?

Revlon Super Lustrous lip gloss is an old favorite of mine turned new! It has a consistency like none other and contains tiny flecks of glimmer for a gorgeous shine. To the left is a picture of me wearing the hot pink Shine That Pink shade. It looks suspiciously similar to my other fall staple gloss, but when I run out of that one, I know which one I’ll buy. Who’s to tell the difference? I’ll never tell! (Except to you all, of course).

lol yeah I always cry when I watch the Lion King. It always gets me going.

I like the Lancome Juicy tubes a lot because they don’t shine, but I’ve never tried the MAC ones. I love Chanel and Nars lipglosses, but I don’t carry lip gloss around with me most of the time, so I don’t really know.

and some prices are outrageous =/

Revlon’s lipgloss is a great drugstore alternative.I actucally like it better than lipglass and juicy tubes.

Revlon’s glosses are great that and their liquid foundations (I find them to be better suited for my skintype than any other high end foundation that I’ve tried.) You have me wanting to retry MAC lipglasses again. First time I wasn’t impressed. Maybe they improved?

The Body Shop also carries great balms and glosses. I find that glosses dry my lips out so balm is essential (plus it’s SPF) and they always have rad mix and match deals. Body Shop=love and products you can feel good about.

I got Oberta jerky (well, my guy got it for me) at the market by my apartment and it was MSG free. You can always find healthy stuff in Oregon. We are the land of the hippies.

By the way, did you notice that the three girls other than yourself on Bloglattes (so far) are Oregonians? :)
